“This book is for every youth or high school football player and coach. My dream is that the work that went into producing this book will be rewarded when every individual reader discovers a tip, strategy, motivation or winning play that raises the readers game to a new level.”
“More that anything else, this book is designed to help developing quarterbacks, receivers and their coaches understand the basic vulnerabilities of any defensive pass formation.”, Tyrone Braxton.
An entire section is devoted to tips for young players as well. The earlier a young player begins to develop the techniques for effective play, the sooner these effective techniques become a habit and are ingrained for the remainder of a player’s football career.
Coaching high school football in today’s ultra competitive environment demands more than just a mastery of “the fundamentals”. Offenses must be prepared to modify their attack at any time based on the defense’s formations. Defensive football plays and coverage schemes must be basic enough that the high school player can grasp and execute the designed defensive strategy. However a defensive play scheme has to be complex enough to control and defeat the formation that the offense has chosen. The combination of basic and yet complex is what the defensive playbook chapters in the book are all about.
The offensive playbook section of the book has a number of proven plays for offensive execution against either defensive zone or man-to-man formations. Many of the play scheme basics for coaching high school football are contained in this playbook. |
